Session

This marks the beginning. The Session Token smart contracts are activated, nodes transition to the Session Network, and the Token Swap Program begins. The decentralised communication economy powered by Session Token goes live.

The first utility phase of the Session Token. Users can stake tokens, operate nodes, and earn daily rewards. A web portal allows staking through familiar wallets in seconds. This milestone also supports the launch of the decentralised physical infrastructure network (DePIN), secured by the Session Token.

Unique Session Names can now be bought, traded, and collected. This is the first in-app utility of the token, allowing users to easily connect with friends or display exclusive names. A marketplace is created for name trading and mapping Session Names to Session IDs. Tokens used here are burned as network fees, and an equivalent amount is added to the Staking Reward Pool.

A beta launch of premium features in the Session messenger, unlocked using Session Tokens. Features include profile badges and larger file attachments. Users can activate Session Pro by paying in Session Tokens or via third-party gateways that convert fiat to tokens. All tokens used are burned as network fees, and corresponding amounts are reallocated to the Staking Reward Pool

The complete feature set of Session Pro is released. Beta features are refined and expanded to increase user adoption. More advanced premium functions are introduced. As adoption grows, so does the strength of the decentralised communications economy.

Integrated crypto wallets are introduced within the Session app. Users can manage Session Token staking, rewards, and premium features directly in-app. Support for other cryptocurrencies also enables smooth onboarding into the Session Token ecosystem without leaving the messenger.
